Who we are

The ADAC Toscana was set up by dance companies financed by the Tuscany Region; their goal is to enhance the conditions of contemporary creation through collaboration. The ADAC (Association of Dance and Contemporary Arts) elaborated a dance project to create a network of companies (also open to other entities) with the aim of starting a project cooperation process with cultural centres. This network presents an interface between artistic organisations, institutions and national and international scenarios. The intention is to promote dance and contemporary body languages in order to create a renewed system for the use of choreographic and performance art.

“Only by going beyond the schematic and anachronistic approach separating the moment of creation from that of production and distribution through a new, shared relationship between companies, theatres, centres and circuits, will it be possible to build a living theatre system able to adapt itself step by step to society’s evolution. Only in this way will it be possible to bring together tradition and the contemporary scene, guaranteeing all forms of expression equal dignity and an equal opportunity to meet the public.”.
