KINKALERI started out in 1995 as a group of formats and means on the tightrope of their initiative.

The six members meet, pooling their previous experiences and studies gained in various fields, with the intent of realising specific projects, stimulating therefore the desire to operate on concrete ideas while always tending all aspects necessary for creations within its field of activity: projects, creation, dramaturgy, distribution, management. Kinkaleri’s works have been hosted in many hybrid genre programmes, achieving important recognition on the research scene in Italy and particularly abroad.

With a totally original structure, both from the organisational point of view and as regards its particular artistic production, it supplies the coordinates essential to the will to work that motivates it: to set under strain the representative relation between the object and the surroundings it refers to (or should refer to). All productions have therefore always had the cross-section of signs which in the contemporary scenario are bit by bit bringing to a head the fruition of the representation: a language that kneads tongues together and makes them appear foreign even to themselves, only to be redefined in another place. Research has therefore always been directed towards a quality of action that brings to the fore innovation and the interaction between original languages through the experimentation in differing means of presentation.

Due to its very nature, the production process of Kinkaleri has always found its own development through diversified itineraries  shows, performances, installations, video productions, sonorizations, displays, publications  housed in museums of contemporary art, theatres, festivals, dance and theatre exhibitions, video exhibitions and competitions, sound installations, discotheques, television productions.
